Identità Golose 2025: The Value of Heritage in Hospitality

The 2025 edition of Identità Golose, a benchmark event for the world of fine hospitality, offered a space for in-depth dialogue on mindful hosting, sustainable practices, and the evolving landscape of Italian tourism. Among the featured speakers was Antonello Buono, General Manager of Borgo dei Conti Resort, who shared the vision behind The Hospitality Experience, the brand developed in collaboration with The Place of Wonders. At the heart of his talk was a model of hospitality deeply rooted in local culture and committed to preserving the region’s artisanal heritage.

Antonello passionately emphasized how today’s travelers are seeking more than just comfort and beauty. They are drawn to authentic and meaningful experiences that connect them with the Genius Loci - the true essence of the places they visit. In this perspective, The Hospitality Experience promotes a form of tourism that celebrates cultural heritage, giving voice to traditional stories, materials, and time-honored techniques. A standout example of this philosophy is the recent renovation of the resort, carried out in collaboration with local artisans—keepers of age-old crafts reimagined through a contemporary lens. This thoughtful approach transforms a simple stay into a conscious journey, one that is anchored in the genius loci and capable of generating a real, positive impact on the surrounding community.

The talk, titled Talent and Training: Motivation and the Value of Heritage, also highlighted the broader vision behind The Hospitality Experience—the high-hospitality project by the Babini family, encompassing three properties committed to protecting Italy’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage. It’s a project that weaves together hospitality, cultural preservation, and education, with the aim of safeguarding disappearing crafts and passing them on to future generations. A virtuous circle where innovation is born from memory, and the future is grounded in the strength of tradition.
