Venice Glass Week 2025: Venice enchants with the magic of glass
On the occasion of The Venice Glass Week 2025, the international festival established in 2017 with the purpose of celebrating, supporting, and promoting the art of glassmaking, the lagoon city was transformed into an extensive exhibition space devoted to glass in all its forms. Within this context, the contribution of the The Place of Wonders Foundation was of particular significance. For many years, the Foundation has been dedicated to enhancing craft professions and promoting the culture of artisanal excellence.
From 13 to 21 September 2025, Venice was enlivened by the mastery of glassmakers, capable of turning a simple material into extraordinary works that captivated and engaged visitors. Every corner of the city became a stage for beauty and creativity, offering a truly unique and immersive experience.
The Foundation’s commitment to supporting the young craftswomen awarded scholarships through the Venetian Glass Beads course continues with conviction. These emerging artists had the opportunity to showcase their creations at the prestigious Salotto Zecchin of the Londra Palace Venezia, thereby contributing to the cultural program of the festival with their distinctive and evocative works.
Within this framework, the series “Mani d’Oro – Stories of Italian Craftsmanship” was inaugurated — a program of encounters conceived to highlight the experiences of artisans supported by the Foundation. The opening event, conducted by business narrator Andrea Bettini, featured glass master Alessia Fuga, instructor of the course, who shared her vision and professional journey within the world of glass art.
The concept of the series is inspired by a poetic and powerful idea: “A beauty that takes shape in the hands, flows through the material, and resonates with time, silence, and ancient knowledge.”
Through these monthly encounters, the public will be invited to undertake an inspiring journey into the very heart of Italian craftsmanship — a priceless heritage composed of skilled gestures, refined intuitions, and transformations that give tangible form to beauty.
